Most people think of swinging a hammer when they think about volunteering for Habitat. Many of our younger volunteers (under the age of 16) and families who'd like to volunteer together opt to help out here... You don't need to be an expert in any of these fields to help out! There are many tasks that require only a willingness to learn and work with others.

Listed below are some of the non-construction volunteer opportunities.

Committees

  We often need committed individuals to serve on committees.  Please visit our Committees page for more information the various opportunities.

Office/Clerical/Teaching

• Workshop Leaders —
  We welcome volunteers with an extensive knowledge in the construction trade that would be willing to teach volunteers and staff and perhaps conduct monthly workshops.
• Media, Newsletter, Press —
  Do you have an interest in writing?  Our newsletter is published 3 times a year. There is no experience necessary - just enthusiasm! Contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you're a candidate.
• Office —
  General office help, data entry, mailings - We would love your help.  

Habitat Home Supply — Retail outlet store

• Habitat Home Supply donations vehicle assistant —
  The Habitat Home Supply needs volunteers to assist with our donations pick-up vehicle one or two days a week usually for 2-4 hours. Sometimes you will need to assist in loading donated materials into a large truck, so the ablility to safely lift 50 lbs is desired.
• Habitat Home Supply in-store volunteers —
  The Habitat Home Supply is always looking for volunteers to work in the store. Check the Habitat Home Supply page on this site for more information.

Cans for Habitat

• Program Coordinator —
  As a devoted recycler, you can help us expand our program by taking the lead in researching, contacting and establishing new locations as well as coordinating route and school advocacy volunteers.
• School Advocacy Volunteer —
  Instill the importance of recycling into our children and youth.  This volunteer position is a work in progress- the opportunities are boundless!
• Route Volunteer —
  Are you passionate about recycling?  We have an immediate need for volunteers to pick up cans on established routes and take them to our central can drop-off site.  Routes consist of 6-8 locations and are picked up on a "as needed" basis.
